I live in a snowy area. I love snow. I like to look at all the different types of snow crystals and flakes. think I know a more than normal amount about it.
So, when the eastern seaboard was socked in by snowy weather this week, a national weather forecaster gave me cause for pause. He spoke of "thundersnow." What was this? How could there be a form of snow I have not heard of? So I went to the typical source for facts, Wikipedia....yep, it's a wikiword. Thundersnow is a thunderstorm with snow.
For a more official source, check out this National Geographic article on the topic.
So there you have it,"Thundersnow" is a word. Perhaps you can use it in scrabble sometime. I've seen the phenomena many a time. I just didn't know it had a name. Now I do...and so do you.
